Research
Overview:
The Exercise and Sport Research Institute (ESRI) is an
interdisciplinary research unit that serves as a research facility for the
interdisciplinary doctoral program in exercise science. Faculty and
graduate students within ESRI investigate a wide range of topics
concerning movement, physical activity, fitness, and sport. The faculty
members of the Sport and Exercise Psychology Laboratory examine the
relationship between physical activity and psychological constructs.
Current research is designed to examine the influence of physical
activity on mental health; the benefit of performance enhancement skills;
and motivational aspects of physical activity.
