What should I expect from therapy? Initially, your therapy sessions will involve talking about your concerns and letting your clinician get to know you better. This will help you to define realistic goals, explore options and make responsible decisions. A trusting relationship is essential to useful therapy. If you feel uncomfortable or have concerns about the work you are doing, please discuss these issues. This will make your therapy experience more productive and worthwhile. What are typical concerns for which clients seek therapy? We help our clients with many different problems, ranging from life satisfaction issues to more serious difficulties. We commonly work with clients around issues such as depression and anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, family and relationship problems, social and communication skills, parenting skills, and strategies for academic success. Can I use my insurance plan at the Clinic? The Psychology Clinic will furnish a statement of services for the client to file with their insurance company. The clinic does not accept direct or consignment payment from insurance companies. How much will a consultation cost? How soon can I see a clinician? Who can take advantage of the Clinic's services? Where do I park on campus? *Faculty, Staff and Students of the University of North Texas are not provided with clinic parking permits. How do I make an appointment? |
