Summary of Research and Teaching Interests:

My research program focuses on the study of factors which influence health behaivor choices. In particular, we run a smoking laboratory designed to better understand factors that influence cigarette smoking behaivors. We are currently looking at alternative reinforcers that may minimize or reduce nicotine withdrawal and may help guide cessation treatment programs.

I currently supervise students in our beginning clinical practicum and teach an advanced course on interventions in Health Psychology. I am interested in the how students develope of clinical competencies and how, in a scientist-practitioner model, students learn to better utilize evidence-based practice approaches.
