Department-Student
email communication:
As per UNT policy # 18.5.7, the Department of Psychology uses
Eaglemail for email communication with students. This is for both
directions - to and from students. As per the policy, "Students are
responsible for reading their e-mail frequently enough to receive important
communications from the University." and "Students are
responsible for ensuring that any forwarding address they set is accurate
and operational."
The Chair of Psychology encourages students to assign
themselves an "alias" using their last names.
All graduate students must have and maintain an Eaglemail
email account and should monitor their Eaglemail account daily for
intradepartmental email, especially during any semester they are employed
by the Psychology Department. (Personal email accounts with non-UNT
providers can be unreliable and have caused unnecessary problems and extra
work for the departmental staff trying to communicate electronically with
graduate students.)
UNT students should apply for an Eaglemail account at any time
after they have been officially admitted. New graduate students are
encouraged to apply for an Eaglemail account as soon as possible after they
have been admitted.
Students can sign up for an Eaglemail account either on the
world wide web using a java-capable web browser or in person at the
Computing Center Helpdesk in the ISB. To sign up for an Eaglemail account
using a web browser, go to http://eaglemail.unt.edu and
click on the Help link at the top of the page. Then follow the Activating
Your Account/Students link on the Computing Center Helpdesk Eaglemail page
and follow the instructions.
Eaglemail accounts may be accessed either using a web browser,
at the URL http://eaglemail.unt.edu, or by logging on to http://neptune.acs.unt.edu.
When an Eaglemail account is created, an account with the same user name
and password is also created on http://neptune.acs.unt.edu.
Eaglemail users can obtain a personalized email address to
replace the email address by either using a web browser (go to http://eaglemail.unt.edu,
click on Help , and then click on Creating an Email Alias towards the
bottom of the page) or in person at the Computing Center Helpdesk in the
ISB.
