The Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas
invites applications to fill four tenure track positions for Fall 2009. Two
will be at the Assistant Professor level and two will be at the Associate
or Full Professor level. We expect to interview before the end of the fall
semester or early in the spring semester.
Context:
UNT, approximately 35 miles north of Dallas and of Fort Worth,
has approximately 34,000 students. As 8th in the nation for transfer
students, faculty have advanced undergraduates for their research teams.
Undergraduates become majors after taking Intro, Statistics,
and Methods. We have more than 1100 majors. We have four doctoral programs,
with Clinical, Counseling, and Clinical Health/Behavioral Medicine
accredited by APA. Our Applied Experimental Program is smaller. We have 27
FTE faculty, some of whom belong to more than one program. Graduate
students see more than 700 clients a year in our Psychology Clinic. In
2007, 36% of our majors and 17% of our graduate students were students of
color. Consequently, an interest in any aspect of minority issues, broadly
defined, or any aspect of multicultural psychology is a plus, as is a
commitment to diversity in all its forms.
