Research and
Community Relations Position
A PhD in social, developmental,
community, applied experimental, clinical, counseling is wanted for a new
continuing, nontenure track research and community relations position
starting. The successful candidate will help define the job.
Required responsibilities are
to facilitate research and community outreach, making it excellent as a
postdoc. The person will develop, implement, and manage systematic data
collection, supervise and coordinate research activities of our psychology
clinic. We will encourage a productive research program, providing an
exceptional opportunity to build a record of grants and publications. A
track record of funded research is preferred, but a strong interest to
learning about and generating extramural funds will suffice. Resources are
available to develop grantsmanship. Requirements include multicultural
competence, knowledge of community based research, interest in community
service and interpersonal skills. Interest in minority issues or any aspect
of multicultural psychology is a plus. There will be faculty privileges
with faculty responsibilities negotiable, depending on credentials,
interests and department needs.
With 3 APA accredited programs (Clinical,
Counseling, Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine) and Applied
Experimental, we are changing in exciting ways.
UNT, ≈35 miles north of Dallas and Fort
Worth , has an increasingly diverse faculty and
student body. We have one of the largest training clinics in the nation and
want more ethnically and socioeconomically diverse clients to enhance our
research and education missions. Doctoral students (≈60), supervised
by faculty, provide therapy and assessment to more than 700 individuals and
families per year.
