Our Research Team

Daniel J. Taylor, Ph.D.- Assistant Professor of Psychology at The University of North Texas. Dr. Taylor's research interests are in the areas of epidemiology of sleep, insomnia as a risk factor for psychological and medical disorders, and the cognitive behavioral treatment of insomnia, depression, and anxiety disorders.

Emily Grieser, B.S.- 3rd year doctoral student in the Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine program at UNT. Emily graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Liberal Arts. Her research interests include stress, immune function, migraine headaches, and the impact of relaxation and imagery as a therapeutic technique. Her current research examines subjective reports of excessive daytime sleepiness in people with insomnia.

Brandy M. Roane, M. S. - 4th year doctoral student in the Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine program at UNT. Brandy graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Performing Arts. She obtained her M.S. from the University of North Texas. Her research interests include adolescent sleep and sleep disorders, mental health problems and health-related behaviors in adolescents, and therapeutic interventions for adolescents. Her current research examines subjective reports of adolescent insomnia as a predictor of young adulthood outcomes.

Adam Bramoweth, B.S. -  2nd year doctoral student in the Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine program at UNT.  Adam graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Psychology.  His research interests include sleep behavior, stress and coping, health and quality of life issues, and mental illness in health care treatment.  His current research involves studying predictive measures for college student drop out rates including sleep, health, stress and coping, social support, and academics. Marian Zimmerman, M.A. – 3rd year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine program at UNT.  Marian has a M.A. in clinical psychology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and a B.S. in psychology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.  Her research interests include cognitive behavioral interventions, chronic pain management, and insomnia with co-morbid substance abuse.  Her current research examines correlates between chronic pain and insomnia as well as the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia with college students.

Christie Gardner - Junior undergraduate at UNT (Senior after this semester) in the honors program working on B.S. in psychology with a minor in spanish.  Interested in insomnia, pediatrics and mental health (anxiety disorders specifically). Currently working on honors thesis, The interrelationship of insomnia and mental health cross-sectionally and longitudinally.
