Your task is to read four (4) pieces of research and submit a type-written hypothesis for each piece of research. Please submit all of the assignment stapled.
Your research will come from the popular print media. You will access four articles from http://www.psyc.unt.edu/~binkm/3650/assn1.html. Theses articles report the results from scientific research in lay language. Read each article carefully and provide a response for each of the task requirements for each article.
The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn to construct hypotheses from information given in incomplete research reports. You will construct the hypothesis for each article and submit your response in an appropriate type-written format. It is your task to “construct” a hypothesis from the description of the research that is given in each article. Remember that a hypothesis contains only concrete variables, and it states the conditions under which the data are collected. It is unlikely that the hypothesis for any of the research will be directly stated in the article.
For each article, you should:
1) Define the IV and give an operational definition of the IV
2) Define the DV and give an operational definition of the DV
3) Indicate whether the research is Experimental or Correlational
4) Construct a clear and testable hypothesis.
