Evidence-based Training and Competencies Research Lab

Doctoral students admitted to the Etc. Lab are expected to have a background in psychotherapy research and/or psychological assessment.  With this foundation, students focus their research in the Etc. Lab on investigating professional clinical competencies and elucidating variables salient to effective training of professional psychologists.  In addition, the Etc. Lab is committed to research on parental stress associated with high-risk childbirth and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).  If you would like to learn more about current research in the lab, you can read more here.

Clinical interests of affiliated students usually fall in the individual adult psychotherapy and assessment domains (psychological and neuropsychological).  If you'd like some free entertainment, play some games (click here) that are not authentic neuropsychological tests but are web-based imitations of common neuropsychological tests and techniques.

To see the academic lineage of the lab for the past several hundred years, click here.  The keen observer will note that this is the first academic "generation" lead by a female.  While interesting, that is not a topical line of research in the lab.

Future generations are very promising, with students making significant achievements during training. For example, the following awards have been bestowed upon students working with Dr. Callahan:

§  APA Division 29, Freedheim Student Development Paper Award (Joshua Swift, 2008)

§  Distinguished Graduate Fellowship (Joshua Swift, 2008)
